If there is any real chance of getting substantial highway funds for the bridge from the federal government, this is the year. The main reason is that the major Transportation Authorization Bill that only comes up once every six years is on schedule for this year.

For that reason and because Barney Frank wants to increase spending. 8)

lol. Did you deliver your Christmas ornaments yet? I hear they are decorating early for Christmas this year in DC. Don't be too late.

On a similar topic to the 331 four lane, I believe the next luncheon meeting of the Walton Area Chamber will be discussing the topic of the cut through road from the new PCB airport to WaterSound (hwy 98). It will be at the Sandestin Hilton, but I forget the date.

Our Christmas ornament for WC was on the tree early, at least on the Senate side.

However, no more approps bills are being handled until after the election. Then most likely it will be in an omnibus bill or Continuing Resolution until the next Congress decides what to do. Either way, it should be protected since we received funding the past 6 years so the CR language will allow funding at previous levels, and if it is in an omnibus bill the negotiations "usually" will garner House member support for water projects.

How much of the project are they funded to complete already?

only the portion between hwy 98 and the Bay. They have already acquired the land needed between hwy 20 to Owls Head. They may have acquired more than that, because I saw them tearing down the equipment rental building two days ago, on the stretch just north of the Bay.

I know it's a little off topic, but where wass the equipment rental place you mentioned? I can't think of any just North of the bay. Thanks

It was the former Chapman's Restaurant or Reddick's -- I always got the two confused.

That new business was Citrus Tool & Fastener, I think.

Last time we went north during the day, Fuzz pointed out that Danny Copeland (Copeland's Gun and Sporting Goods Shop, for those that don't know him) has built a new store and new home further back, out of the right-of-way.
