Hey there! One of my friends from Atlanta is wanting to have her wedding somewhere on the beach in SoWal areas next May... She is on a budget, is the only issue. Anyone know of any reasonable locations for the ceremony and reception (doesn't have to be same place)? I am having her come down this weekend to look at some places, and would GREATLY appreciate your help! Thanks so much!

I had a bride in my cafe for a cake tasting and we discussed that very same thing. She was on a tight budget and it so happened to work out that the State Park in Destin (across from Walmart), I think it's Henderson State Park is available. She had to pay approximately 400 for use of the park, based on number of guests and it closes at sunset so she has the park for her entire party after sunset and they have to arrange to pay the park ranger to stay after hours. That's about the most reasonable price for a beach wedding that I know of....aside from renting a beach front home and using that. They are using the facilities at the state park for the reception and everything. I hope that helps you out somewhat. Beach weddings are pretty pricey!

If you want more privacy as well as accommodations for guests, you should check out "The Lawn on the Beach" shown under the "Wedding" section of this website, www.Pearlywhiteproperties.com (http://www.Pearlywhiteproperties.com) .

This can be cheap, but cheaper still is having 200 guests park near the Inn and then walk 1/4 mile. I thought the chair rental people were going to drop dead when we explained that it was the grouping of people on the horizon.
