Angry Spurrier ends South Carolina practice early
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Steve Spurrier ended South Carolina's practice early soon after linebacker Eric Norwood's hard hit on receiver Moe Brown during a passing drill.
Spurrier was angry that some defensive players were laughing and smiling when Brown got hit. Spurrier says his players have to learn to practice as a team and take care of each other.
The Gamecocks coach says the Monday night session got out of hand. He did not have a reason for it. But Spurrier says if the players don't want to practice the way a team should, the team will spend its workouts running.
Spurrier says the worst part of the incident was the players giggling after Brown got hit.

He had a 5PM tee time, pure and simple. Anyone lese think this is his last year at USC? I think not being able to coach at a school smack dab in the most talent rich state is getting old for him.

What do you football freaks call the University of Southern California? I get so confused...UT is the University of Texas over here (duh) and I am catching that one, but the USC thing still gets me.

I think you just have to be aware of context or tweak the west coast USC and call them southern Cal (which I think they hate).

Umm...darling...over here "LA" is "lower Alabama." We don't acknowledge the western countries like Texas and California.

Watch it...;-)
FYI, they refer to themselves as "SC". In the fall, most are "SC" football fans and UCLA fans when basketball rolls around.

That is why the PAC10 will always be the PAC10. Can you imagine Alabama fans becoming Auburn fans when basketball season rolls around.
I have seen the 2 USCs also referred to USCe and USCw.
