How nice that so many people care enough to run for commissioner!
In reviewing qualifications there is one guy I want to talk to more in depth. He has worked for an international company in finance as well as sales. Hear he is quite a negotiator. He has had his own business and could well understand the struggles of small business owners in our area. He has been active in the community since he moved here 10 years ago. I am told that when he volunteers, things get done, and people - all kinds of people- enjoy working with him. He apparently is a doer.
One candidate, according to SoWal commentators, clearly does not appear to live in the district. It bothers me that she is claiming residence. Is this, yet another who will be indicted for falsifying information?
Another is a military man with no experience in the business world. It is a big transition from the military "orders" system to the outside world. Too much of a learning curve for me.
Another has lots of signs out, but has given us nothing else to go on.
The last has attended lots of meetings and has a reputation for being rather negative toward a much enjoyed public event. He has offended many people. He has experience working in accounting for a non-profit for 30 years. This does not mean he had "bottom line" responsibility in competitive industry. I want someone with broader experience than that to handle the difficult times we face in Walton County
So far I like Sid Braunstien a lot. Will learn more about the man. He appears to be the well rounded person I will want to vote for.
