I had to work today (thank God I have a job), but I was wondering if anyone wanted to chime in on the candidate's performances today. Hopefully some of you will have a chance to attend and report on the day events as my job will only allow me to attend the night/weekend ones.
By the way, I appreciate that Mr. Hudson posted the announcement of the candidate forums he has been notified of.

The most noteworthy comment that I would offer this evening was that in the BCC District 3 race both Larry and Johnny were there AND in the District 5 race four of the candidates Sid, Cecila, Bob and Alan were present but the fifth candidate did not attend. I give those attending appreciation and gives everyone attending a better since of who each candidate is so are better informed.
There were other candidates in the room but did not participate on the Q&A .. on the two BCC races did this.

Hundreds of people were there. I would guess the District 3 race was clarified for everyone in attendance. District 5 showed some clear choices for SoWal. You really had to be there. Attend one of the forums if you can. SoWal really needs to select a candidate and turn out and vote or their commissioner's seat will be determined for them by other parts of the county. It is really weird, but entirely predictable, that the George Wallace Smith candidate did not show. It will be interesting to see how many votes this phantom candidate gets just because he has a recognizable name. Please, people, don't vote if you don't know who you are voting for.

I am not a politician nor did I stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night. As a matter of fact I am only following up on my earlier posts from tonight as I should be in bed.
Immediate internet access is not a given for me. That aside, I appreciate the comments of Aggie and DuneLaker. Any chance we can get video like the democrat website for County Commissioners, or at least make sure everyone participates on this q&a? Most people don't realize that this is a very important way to get your message. As for me as an example, we have this computer for my daughter and I use it to try and follow what's going on for us. My time is limited as is my wife's and I appreciate people putting themselves out there. Hopefully as a community we will hold EVERYONE accountabile, at least through the election process.

It was a very informative event. Kudos to everyone who did put themselves out there and answer questions.

In today's Northwest Florida News, one of their reporters covers the Walton Chamber luncheon yesterday and our SoWal friends can get her views in the article.
