A good post and encourage everyone to attend these community events and forums so they can more about the candidates, ask meaningful questions, see how they respond on a variety of issues and vote.

Thanks Bob for the information and thanks for the kind words at today's chamber luncheon....Do you think the Republican events will be open to the non-partisan candidates?

Their charter from the RPOF actually prevents that from happening. It has been discussed in the past, but as of yet, no rule change has occurred that would allow them to do it if they are going to stay within those rules.

Reminder -- Monday, July 28 is the last day you can change parties to vote in the Aug 26 election. If you want to vote for the Sheriff's race in this primary, and don't like the lone Dem candidate, you have to be registered as a Republican.

I was just at the north SOE office and there has been a tremendous number of last minute changes to Republican submitted the last few days.

Now don't let that throw you off into thinking that we who did make that change for voting in the Sheriff's General Election race, are now bona fide Republicans, even if our voting card claims that to be the case.

I could be wrong, but I THINK the Daily News reported that the sheriff candidate forum scheduled for Saturday in Darlington has been postponed, due to Okaloosa Deputy Tony Forgione's funeral. Those who were planning to go may want to check on this.

Yes it has been delayed until next week. That conflicts with the Young Republican forum at the Fairgrounds but I am hearing that this may be cancelled. I guess we will know next week.
