Is there a way to be notified when new messages are posted in a social group or to subscribe to the group? :idontno:

I think that might be why the groups aren't taking off...we forget about them.

I know I have become completely spoiled by the "new posts" button .......... too much effort to check the various groups, I need instant gratification!

It was quickly evident that social groups in this first release would not be very popular because the'yre not very user friendly without the ability to get a back and forth going. I am thinking about adding the ability for each group to have its own forum. Any feedback?

I think there are plenty of forums - only possible tweak I could recommend would be "subscribing to groups", but I am not very tech/online savvy so I am sure others have better ideas/ways to goose the groups.

just out of curiousity what is the purpose of the groups anyway ?

i don't really think we need more forums....i can't keep up the way it is.

I know there's already lots of forums, but I kinda like this idea if you could figure out how to not make it overwhelming.

I might have to try it out. The group forums could still be "hidden" and not necessarily show up in the main forums list on the forum home.

I say go for it! A lot more people might participate. Why, I might even know of a couple of new groups that might form.

What would the difference be between a "group forum" and a thread in the regular forum on a topic that appeals to the group?

:ninja: Good idea. But there needs to be a BIG button saying "subscribe to groups!" so people find out about them in the first place. Your design is nice ... not sure how to fit it in.
