My daughter is in town for the summer and wants to keep up her golf game. Any recommendations for a good driving range and course that won't break the bank, but is not too far away?

DeFuniak Springs Country Club
I think it is $38 on the weekends and $32 during the week including cart to play. I know it is a drive but the price seems to be quite a bit lower than what I hear for south Walton. I do not not play so you would have to call them for any questions.

depending on the gas mileage of your vehicle, it may be less expensive to play closer to SoWal if you include the total cost of travel. -- kind of strange, eh? If you get 15 mpg, at $4.10 / gal (unless it went up again), it will cost you close to $20 in gas to get to Defuniak and back.

I agree with SJ here. It is a long course with some fairly wide fairways and is almost never crowded. They also have local specials, or at least they used to.
If she just wants to hit balls at the range, go to SRB Golf Club.

Definitely check out Santa Rosa Club!
The driving range is only $6.00 per half hour and is actually less crowded on the weekends than during the week.

Windswept is only 7500 yds from the tips. Give yourself challenge.
