If anyone happens to live around the Clarksville, TN area. My son is moving back here to Memphis in 2 weeks. He was going to bring the oldest cat with him named Caesar. Caesar is almost 9 and is a very laid back cat. He has been around my son for 7 years. Now he finds out the deposit where he is going to be living here is $650 for a pet. He is moving in with a friend and his grandmother who already have two dogs they had to pay $1100 for. My son has no option but to take Caesar and two other cats, both males, all 3 fixed to a shelter in Clarksville called Cats R Us. That is if he can get them in there, this is a no kill facility just for cats. But I explained to him that he needed to contact them and see if they could take them. This is crushing him not getting to bring Caesar with him. And it is bothering me. This cat has known no other than him and Kristina and now he will never see any of them again. I feel like this cat is being abandoned. If anyone would want any of the three of them you can pm me and I can let him know. She is taking the 3 females and their dog Barney and moving to her dad's. So if anyone wants any of the three in these pictures let me know. They have all been together for at least a year or two where these youngers ones are concerned. Please let me know if anyone would be interested in giving them a good home. These cats have had their shots and are fixed and have never ventured out of the house. They are strictly inside cats. Any help with finding these cats home would be great.

I hope so also. The young ones are about a year old now and the bigger cat with the socks and the solid white belly will be 9. He is the one I am most concerned about. I don't know what they will think when taken to that shelter and given up. They have been used to each other and the old cat Caesar has been around my son for 7 years. He was going to bring him with him but now he cannot due to what it will cost to keep him there. And even if he gets them in a shelter that is the no kill shelter no one will adopt the nearly 9 year old cat. Older cats and dogs are always the ones that never find homes. I don't understand why they would have to pay another pet deposit when they have already paid $1100 for a pit bull and a pug. The cat would do less damage than the dogs I would think. He is litter box trained and declawed I am sure. So sad. I cannot let this bother me, but my son is the reason Caesar wasn't gone along time ago.

Lady D, since you don't have any animals now, would it be possible for you to take them? At least the oldest one. How sad that they have to go to a Shelter after being with one person their whole life. I hate to see this happen to animals when a family breaks up. They are the ones that suffer the consequences, and it is just sad. I hope they can find homes for them instead of a shelter. Poor cats. I hope everything works out.

His wife is taking the 3 females and the dog with her and going back to live at her stepdad's with him and her younger sister but my son has to do something with the other three. My husband hates cats and would not let a cat in our home. I hate it more so for the older one, the two younger males are brothers and will be easier to find homes for. I wish I could make him an office kitty her at my work. But the complex is not allowing any cats now here at my work since new management took over but this man across the parking lot has several cats that he had way before they made that rule. I wish I could sneak him in here.

Awww, I hope he finds a way to keep Caesar at least, or perhaps you can. The other two will likely adapt well to the shelter and would have a good shot at adoption.
I wish there was a way I could take him, as my family is minus one older cat BUT for Caesar to adapt to new people AND a Siamese AND three dogs might be worse than the shelter. (Plus, I am under orders for no new pets... :()
Good luck...

He can't keep him. He has posted a notice up at his work on their bulletin board and is going to post one in the laundry room at the apartment complex he is in now. I think he would adapt fine to new people and probably would be tolerant of another cat but 3 dogs I don't know. He was tolerant of the one dog though. He is not giving up on finding homes for them. He keeps asking people where he works to let him know of anyone that might like some cats, the women there said they might know someone.
His wife works for the state in Nashville. Out of all the people that works in the area she works in, I am sure she could find homes for them with someone she works with. I am sure someone there might want a cat.

My son is running out of time. The no kill facility there in Clarksville, TN is overcrowded and cannot take anymore. He finally got them by phone. No one both of them have asked has even shown any interest in any of the three. He is not getting any calls from notices he has put up. And I have even emailed 3 pet facilities here, I've heard back from one who says they have no room, and expect him to keep the cats.
If there is anyone in the Nashville area on this board that is interested possibly in providing homes for any of them, Clarksville is not far from there. I can give them my son's number for them to call him. He is desperate and so am I. Thanks everyone.

Here are current pictures of the three cats that need homes and are free to good homes. I am putting a week long ad in the Leaf Chronicle where my son is still living and have printed off color pictures this morning of these three pictures and have sent them to him so he can put these pictures up where he has ads up. I do not know what he is going to do with them after next Thursday since he and I together have heard from 3 places, one has a kennel open but already has over 100 cats and that is the Memphis Humane Society, more or less they would have to find homes for some of the existing cats before they could take them and that would be a couple of months possibly they stated. The first picture is of the 8 year old cat Caesar, the second is of Rory, and the third is Tristen, both are brothers and are 2 years old. Sure wish these cats were in Sowal, they would finds home there. I am still waiting to hear from two places here that are our last hope. Wish there were some people on here in the area where my son still is between Nashville and Clarksville that would like to provide homes for these three. If no homes are found they will have to be taken to the pound I'm afraid and will be put down for certain, and he says he is not doing that, but I don't see him having a choice. This saddens me so much.

We'd love to help, but Mr. SWGB swoons anytime he sees a kitten. That and we already have a matched set.

I don't know why I'm letting this bother me so much??? Probably because I had spent time around all of these plus the other 3 in the past, especially the oldest cat. When pet rescue groups tell you they cannot help, then you know you are in trouble. I just got through a little bit ago putting a free classified ad on petfinder.com for all three of them. Of course, they review it for content before posting the ad so it might be two days from now or next week. And I'm hoping it won't take that long. I wish I had thought of that last week. I never think of things when I need to. My problem is I am too much of an animal lover.

Try craigslist.com too. Unfortunately a lot of the local shelter here are having problems with over crowding and funding. I really hope you guys find them a home.

The ad starting running today in the local paper there in Clarksville today. My son has already had a bite on the cats. It is a woman in the medical field who has 3 children, one a toddler and an older son and daughter. She wants all three if possible. She is going to ask her landlord about him charging her anymore pet deposit as she paid $1,000 already for a bull mastiff.
She has two kittens but wants grown cats. She did ask my son why he was trying to find homes for them and he told her he was moving back to Memphis and was told that the landlord wanted a ridiculous amount for a pet deposit for them, she said ok. Unfortunately I guess that started her thinking about the pet deposit.
She is going to get back with him around 3:00 p.m. today after speaking with her landlord. And the great thing about it, her work is 5 minutes from where my son is living. So they may all have new homes together tonight, hopefully. I'm hoping she won't back out. This sounds so perfect for them.
She told him if anyone else called inquiring about them before he heard back from her to give her a call back. I want him to let her know also that he and I both have tried the no kill facility there in Clarksville and five no kill facilities here in Memphis to no avail.
So wish us luck everyone that they will all have new homes by the end of the day. There is a ad with pictures also on craigslist.com under pets and Clarksville.

Update on the cats, all three cats now have new homes. Caesar is in one home with the woman that said she would like to have all three, she was not able to take the other two. However, she has one cat already around the age of Caesar and a younger cat. Caesar already was crawling under the covers rubbing against her feet and making weird noises. She was worried that those were growls he was making but my son told her it was not growling, and that he did that even with them all these years later. I think she had some concern because he was making these noises that he would bite or scratch.
My son told her he had never bitten or scratched. He was startled by her alarm clock though and hissed when it went off this morning. And he told her that if he was already rubbing up against her like that then he had already taken up with her. She was laughing at Caesar's antics, she said he has drug socks under the bed, stuffed animals, a sheet, etc. He told her it would take him a little longer probably to get used to a new place but that he would probably be settled down even more in a week's time. She said he is a smart cat and figured out at the retirement home last night how to open latches on interior doors and go into the rooms.
The other two found new homes together this afternoon right in the same apartment complex where my son is living now. As a matter of fact, the couple lived right across the drive from him. And they have a 7 week old kitten that they wanted playmates for. Those two love to play. So they should do fine. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
