Surfing After Summer

GRS, BobbyJ, and any other surfers:

I'm planning to spend a few days down in the seagrove (possibly Grayton or BMB) area after the summer season. In general would September or October be a better month for surfing down there? I was thinking October, but I hoped you guys could weigh in. I was down for a week in May and got to longboard and body board every day, and now i'm itching to get back.

June, July and August are the pits. If we are lucky we will get some hurricane action. Not that I want a big storm but I sure like some tropical activity. I would say either Sept. or Oct. It really is hit and miss so just pick the date and cross your fingers. Right now I am watching for the first bump I see. East coast is flatter then the gulf. If nothing breaks soon I am heading to Costa.

Bobby's right.... cross your fingers. I will say that October of 2007 was rocking though. I have a picture on here of a day out at BMB in October. Overhead and pitching! Great waves and great fun.

Bobby J was out that day/evening. remember?

Also, from what I am remembering over the past few years October does not have as many jellies and so forth. I recall being stung often in September for some reason.....
