Hi
We are coming down from June 25 until the 5th of July and wanted to do some deep sea fishing and we have a party of 7. We have emailed and called a couple but have gotten no response. So what up down there?????? I know it is a very busy time but..... can anyone recommend some Captains who do groups of 7. We have no preference of were we need to leave out of
:D Thanks!!!!!

The problem may be that when one has a party of seven or more, there are far fewer boats to choose from. Any vessel that takes more than 6 paying passengers must be, among other things, a Coast Guard inspected vessel. This is expensive in that it reguires an annual inspection which means the boat must be pulled from the water. Boats of this size are not usually pulled out of the water on a trailer, but in a boatyard on a large lift.
If you can pare the party down to 6 people you will have a much easier time finding a charter. If you weed it down to 4 people then there are even more options available to you.
On the other hand, there are "party" boats that take a bunch of people out at about $65 per head.

In addition to the more than 6 people issue, the fishing fleet is also feeling the gas price increase - most charters have shortened the trip to 6 hours from 8 hours and some are also adding a gas surcharge. The bigger the boat, the more fuel it uses, so it's more cost effective to take out the smaller twin motors that only fish 4 comfortably.
