Have any of the Sheriff candidates mentioned who they have in mind for undersheriff or administrative positions? :idontno: I think it will give more insight as to who they are and if they deserve our suppport.

I had heard a rumor that Stan Sunday will be Tom Coopers number 2 man shortly after Tom had come forward about running for sheriff but nothing as of lately:idontno:

Thank you !!!! It is about time we start to look beyond the top layer. I firmly believe that what is necessary is a TEAM. A well oiled and functioning TEAM. One man and his ego (our current situation) is not the way to get things done.

I wish that I could answer this question, but I cannot. I too have heard only speculation as to who would come in as support to candidates, but nothing factual. Remember, candidates cannot promise favors to others (Yes, I know, it still happens) and getting specifics from any of the candidates would be tough. It is worth a try.

I am of the opinion that there are several good officers, currently employeed and capable of leadership roles. However, new blood is also needed and unfortunately for some of/most of, R.J.'s loyalists, be they brainwashed or not, they must GO. I think several of them already know this and are making plans, preparing resumes, copying their files etc.

Change is difficult for all, but is is GOOD for us.

You make some good points. I feel certain that there are some unqualified good ole boys/girls who at least need training.:yikes:
As to who the current candidates will choose for leadership roles, I to have heard the Cooper/Sunday story. The money sould be an issue as I hear Sunday makes a bundle with the county. I have also heard/read that McMillian's #2 Bill Chapman will fill the same role for Mr. Adkinson. I have heard nothing from the others.:idontno:

I think another good question would be for the candidates to identify who they would terminate if elected. Since each of the current candidates on the Republican side were once employees of the department except Mr. Adkinson, that would be interesting if they would answer. Mr. Adkinson employees currently several ex-employees so that perspective could be interesting as well.

I have heard that the money he makes with the county is pretty close to a #2's pay. I asked the same question(money) when I heard that Stan was being considered for the position so I :idontno:
