Holy cow! What a finish that was. My heart just about stopped with that last flurry of action. The Wings do know how to make it interesting!

Yes! Exciting!
All my son wanted to see was the octopus. No octupus in Pittsburgh! We moved from Michigan 5 years ago, too young for him to go to the JOE!
But we are seeing the American Idol concert in Joe Louis Arena, so we will be able to see the banners from the rafters!

Congrats to the Red Wings!!! They are quite an experienced team. I was at the game last night and our young Penguins almost tied it up again in the last second of the game but the puck didn't want to go in.

Congrats, the better team won no doubt and word from the inside said the Pens were pretty banged up. The Wings looked like the old Soviet teams the way the bring the puck up. I see them as tough to beat next year too. Long wait till the NFL now.

Four Stanley Cups in eleven years tells the story, doesn't it?

Both sides were pretty broken by the Finals. It'll take another week or so to get the llast reports on everyone who was playing broken.
And for all the talk of the Wings trying to buy the Cup over the years, they've always gotten the core of their team from smart drafting and good player development. Henrik Zerrerberg was a #210 draft pick, and only one other Conn Smythe winner in history has been a 100 pick or later. And they're in a pretty good position for the next three or so years (or until Lidstrom retires) since the core of their team is under contract for a while and they're looking like they've got cap space to sign the key guys who aren't.
Pavel Datsyuk is my imiginary hockey boyfriend. (The moves trump the ordinary face)
