The following report was prepared by a committee of the National Research Council (NRC), which was appointed to review the Corps' Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration (LACPR) 2008 draft technical report and to provide recommendations for its improvement. The Corps' Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration team is to be commended for recognizing that new approaches are necessary to achieve the overarching goal of reducing hurricane risks to the population and infrastructure of coastal Louisiana.
