Is there any business out there that have a recycling program. I have a abundance of clean glass and cardboard that is dumped weekly w/ our trash. It would be great to be able to put it to good use and reduce the amount of garbage we produce as a by-product of our business. Is there any local companies that service the 30-A area?? Any suggustions would be greatly appreciated!

not sure about your glass, but WM has bins for cardboard that you can get. they have a cutout so that only flattened only. They question is, is it actually recycled. For the Health of it has on as does Pandoras. They may know where it ends up and the rates.

John, are things recycled? I've read all the "stuff" about the recycling program around here. Plus, I was chatting with an old timer at the soccer fields last weekend & he said, even the recyclables from the bins are just tossed into the landfill.

I have been looking for a alternative to W.M for our recycling. Thanks for the heads up and my hat is off to Ed and Rachel @ For the Health of it and Pandora's for there commitment to recycle. Also a hot topic for me right now is to-go containers. I have been looking for biodegradable/ recycled to-go options for our business. I had 2 very tasty smoothies made by Jen in Seaside, and both cup,lid and straw where biodegradable and made from corn. Jen, my had is off to you making that commitment, and being the first on 30-A to do this. Thank you!!
For the Health Of It introduced the corn-based cups, containers, etc. to SoWal awhile ago. Glad to hear Jen is also using them. You can get takeout containers made out of it but I don't know how much heat they will stand.
