Critical bills brought to the House floor last week

According to my congressman, two important items were worked on last week. Both need our support.

1. House leadership brought legislation to the House floor commending the Kansas Jayhawks for winning the NCAA basketball championship.

2. A bill calling for the creation of a “National Watermelon Month.” .

Now both are noble causes for sure, for Jay Hawks and watermellon growers. Just so that when I get my tax bill I will know my hard earned cash is going to a good cause ot two. I wish it were the TV show and not the DC show. :angry:

I know there is a Miss Watermelon pageant in Fla. every year (though not as big as the Miss Peanut Pageant)--someone is footing the expenses for this?

There is a Watermelon Festival in Lulling, TX--they have a pagent there to crown the "Thump Queen" "Thump Princess" and "Thump Duchess." <Been there, done that--and have a T-Shirt :D>
