Millions of frogs have started their migration from the swamp and into froggy society. So if ya live in the Pt. Washington Hood, Beware and wear shoes because they are everywhere. Next the predators will come, that means lots and lots of snakes! For all you cougars these are the real snakes not the ones with the fake accent and the condo they don't own.

My kids would love it!
Although the eldest was just outside for a second, not even on the ground and when she came back in, a slug was stuck to her thigh. She was screaming, even though she's the animal lover of the kids. I couldn't stop laughing because she wanted me to pick her up and take her outside to get it off. I eventually got her outside and the slug off of her, with her chewing me out for laughing so hard.

The little greengromits are picking them up by the handfuls, being carefully of course. No casualties yet.

Now that I think about it, Beanpole mentioned Thursday that there were frogs everywhere at Bay. She was upset that the kids were stepping on them and killing them. She was pointing the casualities out to me after lunch.

If you see any of them wearing a tiny gold crown, catch him and keep him until I can get there to kiss him.

The little greengromits are all girls. So, I'll bet they are watching out for frogs in tiny crowns! As a matter of fact, they look a lot like your smiley chasing frogs .

Was it a slug? Or was it a leech????? We have those here too and they like water.

Definitely a slug. A leech would have given us both heart attacks.:yikes:

:floor::floor::floor: The sushi would be harder for me to keep down than dealing with all of the above!
Was walking on 30-A this weekend near Lucilles and the tiny frogs were everywhere. We had to walk slow because they were all over the sidewalks by the thousands. Smaller than a dime.

For those unfamiliar with this piece of history (or worthless trivia as some might say), there is an interesting reason why we have so many frogs.
The 1972 horror film, aptly titled "Frogs", was filmed at Eden. The house and surrounding area are the main locale. Without going into much plot detail (trust me, it truly is as bad as you can imagine, although I am sure some will find the tale of environmental caution relevant with our current events), numerous amphibians and reptiles were brought in for filming. Many of these frogs and toads escaped, and possibly were released, during filming.
Undoubtedly, many of our current frogs and toads are descended from these "famous" amphibians.
For more info, check out the IMDB page, and I believe the trivia section references the escape of of the frogs. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068615/ I personally have heard the same tale numerous times locally.

He's sitting on our screened porch. I don't think he's a prince- Kate has kissed and kissed him, and he looks the same!

They were not supposed to be able to interbreed with our native amphibians. However, it was the escape of the reptiles which greatly bothered my elementary-school mind at the time. :yikes:

Ew!!! I wouldn't worry about whether or not they could interbreed with the native amphibians, I'd worry if 2 or more escaped!
