An interesting read. Does anyone take the fringe lefties seriously?

I applaud Obama for appearing on Fox;if you are so biased against Fox that you didn't watch his Sunday interview you missed an excellent one. I'm sure it is on youtube. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/10032.html

I believe many independents watch Fox, and there's the gold mine for votes.

obama is smart like a fox. he must reach out to all, regardless of their tv news preference. good for him.

Genuinely curious here - how do you know this???

I know quite a few independents - though obviously nowhere near being able to deduce statistic from- none watch Fox - given their obvious leanings and bias.

Thanks

ThanksI believe their format...their approach to the news is the most dynamic and watchable. Bias aside, they have the largest viewership, and the competition has copied their methods. I hate the blatant bias, but sometimes enjoy the confrontational style that keeps me momentarily away from Bravo/Food Channel et al. I know independents too, and one common thread is that they watch both sides of the coin, and never vote party line but for the person.

I'm an independent and would likely watch Fox news along with CSPAN and CNN if I had cable tv. I know that Fox is biased and I often get tired of listening to Sean Hannity on the radio. However, it is good to hear as many sides as possible to multiple issues. To use only one source for news, is not being fair to one's self.

To each their own of course but there are many many ways of getting balanced and fair news without the distortions of Fox!!

But you all keep enjoying - obviously millions do.

wow, I never realized this. I've only watched about a total of 30 minutes of fox news. are you saying its interesting programming, or that it is tailored to the tastes of the masses? this news channel is smart like a fox, it seems.

It's mesmerizing and goes well with xanax and a strawberry McDonald's milkshake......mass consumption...mmmmmm. Actually, when I'm ready to shoot out the TV, Elvis style, from Rachel Ray overload, the shouting and confrontational style of Fox News makes me realize that maybe Bravo, Discovery, Food Channel, et al ain't so bad.

Shepard Smith, FOX newscaster,(he airs at 2PM and 6PM) is from Mississippi and Destin/FWB. I worked with him when he was still in high school at Hardee's (now Whataburger) by the Destin bridge when Hardee's first opened there. Very cool kid and very smart, hardworking. During the Paris Hilton hamburger debacle, he mentioned working at Hardee's in Destin and mentioning the owner Bill.

Miss. He's at most Ole Miss home games. He is about the only one I watch on that station. I just wish they wouldn't put so much make-up on him.
The week of the Miss. primarty he broadcast live from the square in Oxford. Its a wonder he didn't set up in the grove!

I give high marks to any liberal Democratic candidate (Note: In Fox Noise lingo that would be a" Democrat" candidate-go figure) for appearing with the Fox interviewers--if both Hill and Barack both would be interviewed by them it would give me a better idea as to who will best be able to reach across party lines, stand up to the vast right wing conspiracy, etc., i.e, who may make the best Democratic candidate overall.

If you haven't watched "Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace I suggest you do so. He has had wonderful and insightful interviews every week I have watched him. His interviews with Obama and McCain were extremely good as he questions on the issues as well as all the other guff. Fox news is no more biased than NBC, CNN or any of the others, cable or network. Overall, I think they do a good job and are far more "fair and balanced" than many of the others.

All of the mass media news outlets are biased. You're never going to see NBC running exposes on GE's military weapons division, nor are you going to see ABC exposing Disney's labor practices. Here's a little graphic to keep track.

:shock::floor::rolling:

seriously. "fair and balanced" is a slogan. and I guess its the news corporation's opinion of itself, though I am fairly sure they know better. It is a corporation's decision to target a conversative audience, so how the hail can they make such a claim? oh, who cares.

Always remember, Tootsie, what is "fair and balanced" to one may not be so to another. At any rate, you and I will never agree on what is "fair and balanced". Regardless of whether you like Fox News or not, they are by far the most watched cable news network in the nation.

I never thought about this before but we do not subscribe to cable and we do get Fox network, so would we be included in this. We do not get any other "cable" news programs.

I'm guessing ,but probably ch.4 is your local fox station that has American Idol and other shows. Fox news is probably a hgher #. On my direct tv,it's 360.Even if you don't have cable you can still get the regular fox program station I think.

I like CNN the best, but sometimes watch Fox then try to make my own conclusion. (I have a secret crush on Anderson Cooper) just call me a cougar! However, on Fox, I never watch from7 pm on at night.
