Joe Bastardi's column over at accuweather.com says that Invest 91 has the potential to reach the GOM, so I guess we need to watch the trofs and frontal systems that develop in the days before this potential movement into the Gulf to see exactly where it may go.

Isn't TS Beta going to Central America? Is it unusual for these storms to hit so South?

It is kind of unusual but of course this year hasn't been usual. The models are somewhat in disagreement about the future track. Half of them take Beta North towards the GOM and the other half have it going into Nicaragua.
