Be careful all of you people who decide to run red lights, text message while driving, being distracted by cute girls in bikinis, etc. It takes only a second or two to end up in an ambulance, or worse, in a coffin. This afternoon, there was a car crash at 98/331 intersection, and one car now has no side -- most likely the jaws of life damage. Couldn't tell you about injuries and will save posting photos until after family are informed. Hopefully, all involved are only slightly shaken.

Could you tell who was at fault? One of the scariest sights on my morning commute heading west on 98 is a dump truck or 18 wheeler making the swing off 331 into the merge lane without slowing down. They are just a bit scarier than the lady jawboning the cell while piloting the SUV into the merge lane. Yikes.

I keep a big sign in my car whenever I see someone on a cell phone and not paying attention to driving. It says,
Get off your cell phone
and concentrate on driving.

I like that BR. I want to get stickers for my car which read, "Student Driver." It seems to make people steer wide and not tailgait.

Skunky, my perspective of the crashed cars was too limited to determine what happened. Also, I was very confused at the distance between the crashed cars. I assume that the one in the ditch by the Tom Thumb was going at a high rate of speed, likely coming from the east on hwy 98. That car had a crushed front end. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that driver ran the traffic light and rammed the south and east bound car turning onto hwy 98 from 331. (just my limited perspective wild @ss guess).

Mr. OM & I were just talking about the "Destin Driving School" that so many people must have gone to that taught students to turn left on a red arrow & fly throw lights even worse than in Alpharetta. One of our good friends who's a local turns on red lights like that.:idontno: And Mr. OM wonders why I am so dang cautious driving with the tiny passengers in the back...

I pray that the people in the accident are well & safe.

The tow trucks were there when I passed, so I was fairly late on the scene. No ambulance in sight. I did see one lady standing beside one of the cars, and guessed she was the driver or passenger in that vehicle. I'm really impressed with the way the one car (smashed in the front end) crumpled. It is likely totaled for insurance purposes, but the passenger compartment of the vehicle looked to be in good shaped, and the crumple zone appeared to stop at the front wheel. Auto engineers are geniuses, IMO. Maybe the Walton Sun will have a story tomorrow.

I ALWAYS slow down at all these intersections even when they are green for me as I have so often seen people run red lights. Very scary.
