Does anyone have any information about a motorcycle wreck on Thompson Road this morning? It sounds as though there will be some very sad news for someone's family today. :(

I haven't gotten a press release on it yet. Hope they will be okay:blink:
It was on the local news this morning. Channel 7. Two people on a bike. I think they said the driver lost control and hit a sign.
The story in on WMBB.com.
From WMBB:
The Florida Highway Patrol says a man was killed Friday morning on Thomas Drive after crashing his motorcycle. It happened about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 98.
Authorities say David Calhoun, 45, of Youngstown, turned onto Thomas Drive in the wrong lane. Calhoun was reportedly driving south in the northbound lanes, when he hit the center median and then a traffic sign.
Calhoun was thrown from the motorcycle. Authorities say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle's passenger, John Johnson, 46, or Springfield, was reportedly taken to Bay Medical Center with minor injuries.

See if they have an accident on Thompson Road.....
My bad. Thompson Rd, Thomas. I got mixed up.
Nothing on WMBB or the FHP website. Wonder if maybe it was the story I stuck into this thread.

Helmets? I'm guessing not. I hate hearing this stuff, though, considering the fact that I put more than 20K miles per year on my bike...

I hate it to, considering how many miles you put on it. Continue to be safe, and watch out for the folks who aren't watching out for you!

I had heard it from someone who heard it from the local newspaper delivery guy so "Thomas Drive" could have easly been misunderstood for "Thompson Road". He said it was a young guy who flew into a sign and apparently killed upon impact. I was under the impression that he saw the accident. Very sad. I hope that this didn't happen twice today.
