Recd from Cindy Meadows Office in response to my e-mail to her re: seawalls.

The seawalls built during the "emergency order period" were all supposed to be temporary with the exception of those homes built prior to 1985. There is talk about getting the County to file an "Incidental Take Permit" for those seawalls that do not qualify for the 1985 exemption, thereby allowing them to remain. This process would take several years and there are many questions I have on leaving the seawalls in place. My research shows seawalls do reconfigure the beach. Please rest assured that I am looking at all the variables in this issue and need additional information (which should be forthcoming at the TDC/BCC workshop in November). Thank you for your concern.

This is nuts. What difference does it make when the house is built? Is it because pre 1985 they were all built so crappy?
