9 pm CST. I hope y'all get to see it. Cloudy here in NY, but I can see the moon clearly enough though. Not sure we'll see Saturn though. Enjoy!
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The last total lunar eclipse until 2010 occurs Wednesday night, with cameo appearances by Saturn and the bright star Regulus on either side of the veiled full moon.

Skywatchers viewing through a telescope will have the added treat of seeing Saturn's handsome rings. Weather permitting, the total eclipse can be seen from North and South America. People in Europe and Africa will be able to see it high in the sky before dawn on Thursday.
As the moonlight dims -- it won't go totally dark -- Saturn and Regulus will pop out and sandwich the moon. Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo. Jack Horkheimer, host of the PBS show "Star Gazer," called the event "the moon, the lord of the rings and heart of the lion eclipse." Wednesday's event will be the last total lunar eclipse until December 20, 2010. Last year there were two.
The weather could be a spoiler for many in the United States. Cloudy skies are expected for most of the Western states with a chance of snow from the heartland to the East Coast, said Stuart Seto of the National Weather Service.

Oooh, thank you for the reminder! It happens about 10 pm EST and the sky is crystal clear here so it'll be a good one for us. It's funny but I was out running an errand around 6:30 pm and when I came out of the parking lot, there was this ginormous yellowy moon hanging it the sky. It was really striking. And of course I completely forgot that the best show was happening later tonight.

The moon is really bright right now. Hope it stays that way. Weather report says it will be bad for us, however it looks great right now.

It sure is nice that we won't have to miss any American Idol in order to watch the moon strut its stuff.

It's been amazing here. Clear and cold, of course. We've only been able to poke our heads out the door to look every so often but still amazing to see none the less.

I went out on the porch to check the progress just now, but it was really dark and I ran face-first into my windchimes.
I'm glad I live alone. (But I think I heard the Jesus Cat snickering under his breath.)

Post it tomorrow! I've been running up and down the stairs since quarter of nine looking at this. It's so still outside that it doesn't even feel cold to me. What's really cool is that everyone on my street is looking at the eclipse, too. It sounds like everyone's having a moon-watching cocktail party (I'm hearing a lot of loud voices and laughing, the kind I never hear except in summertime!) Merman kissed me out on the porch when it eclipsed. Now I'm looney. Or luney? :funn:

The clouds moved in right when the eclipse was full. Did get a decent star shot of the Pleides though.

Me too, running up and down the stairs. Definitely Luney, but that's why we love you Mermy. Now do I need glasses or does the moon look like it has rings now as it moves out of the eclipse? It still looks cool.
Great shot of the Pleides rdelong.
I just noticed there are over 800 visitors on Sowal right now. :welcome:

My shots came out blurry. I didn't use a tri-pod and my hands shake too much. But here are some great shots taken from around the world.
