Funny how big travel periods and high gas prices seem to constantly be dating each other. Think they'd "tire" of all the gossip they get "rolling". ;-)
Always somebody making money off the current situation, no matter it be bad or good.

Yeah, and it was 2.95 there late last week.

You know, I wouldn't have a problem if the pump prices reflected what they actually PAID for the wholesale gas. But this price change is possibly all applied to the same tanker truck load.

Exxon record quarterly profits...

We're getting hosed.

I agree. It is pretty disgusting...

This is all true, perhaps we would all be screaming more if we weren't getting it in the end from something that wasn't a lubricant?

I've ranted on this subject before, but we absolutely, positively gotta get out of the business of burning oil!!!!!!!!!!!

The only solution I see is nuclear power (Go ahead and blast me, but you got to have a better solution before you do).

That gets rid of burning oil, gas and coal and then allows the price of electricity to stabilize to the point that hydrogen fueled cars become practical.

This is a long term project, there are lots of issues associated with it, and cannot happen over night or cheaply. But for pete's sake, look at what our oil dollars are paying for in the middle East. As I said before, if we can put people on the moon, we can fix this damn oil problem. Quit spending money on pie in the sky and fix the problems we have at hand.

And on top of that, the world turmoil that is documented and prophesied in the Bible will not stop until this earth is gone. How stupid are we to keep up doing business with these people? The definition of idiocy is something like keeping on doing the same things and expecting different results (or something like that).

A FAR better solution than going nuclear is to use less. The amount of oil/electricity/other resources being wasted is ridiculous.

Giant homes sitting empty with the AC running at meat locker temps, people leaving their cars running so their pets are comfortable - on a cloudy 70 degree day, eternal flame gas lanterns on vacation homes, sprinklers irrigating sidewalks and roads, the list of things that are just plain wasteful and wouldn't be missed is quite long!

I fully agree, but conservation can only go so far, maybe 3 or 4% of total consumption. we have to do something about the other 90+ %.

I want to look up and post what % of oil/coal/natural gas is used in what industry. I've seen this and it was most enlightening.
