Now I am really confused as to what Obama stands for. He keeps dinging Hillary for supporting NAFTA, yet here on Huffington they say he supports a NAFTA expansion, yet he voted against CAFTA according to one source, yet also here he says he supports CAFTA.

Sorry, I did mean to take the word BREAKING off the title.
But since you are here, is Obama for Nafta or against it? I keep seeing different answers to the question. Maybe you can point me to a place on his website so I can link it here, that way everyone will get a fair and balanced viewpoint.

Trade
Obama believes that trade with foreign nations should strengthen the American economy and create more American jobs. He will stand firm against agreements that undermine our economic security.
Fight for Fair Trade: Obama will fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support good American jobs. He will use trade agreements to spread good labor and environmental standards around the world and stand firm against agreements like the Central American Free Trade Agreement that fail to live up to those important benchmarks. Obama will also pressure the World Trade Organization to enforce trade agreements and stop countries from continuing unfair government subsidies to foreign exporters and nontariff barriers on U.S. exports.
Amend the North American Free Trade Agreement: Obama believes that NAFTA and its potential were oversold to the American people. Obama will work with the leaders of Canada and Mexico to fix NAFTA so that it works for American workers.
Improve Transition Assistance: To help all workers adapt to a rapidly changing economy, Obama would update the existing system of Trade Adjustment Assistance by extending it to service industries, creating flexible education accounts to help workers retrain, and providing retraining assistance for workers in sectors of the economy vulnerable to dislocation before they lose their jobs.

Okay. These are some really good ideas. But do you happen know what specifically he thinks is broken about NAFTA? The only thing I can ever read in the paper is stuff like out cheap tomato imports are putting the Florida tomato grower out of business. Yet tomatoes are higher now than I have seen them in a while. So where are these cheap imports going that I keep reading about, the ones that are suppose to be saving me money?

Walton - why don't you go and read up on obama's website and all his positions? you might be more impressed than you expect. you may even start considering that his message and proposed policies are worth a try. you may realize that all the status quo guys are very short term thinkers who are trying to get elected, rather than have real ideas and goals for this country.
who knows what might happen if you read through it with an open mind. hell, just call punzy on the phone or meet her for lunch for a real education on health care and any of the policies you may want to hear about.
you never know.
