As alot of you know, Stan the Mater Bandit was banned by the "State" of South Walton from selling produce on CR 30a. I went underground for a while, it was very risky doing business this way. Selling produce in parking lots and back alleys, going to "mater houses" where people were actually cooking up Homegrown Tomatoes. It was way to risky to sell produce in this manner. Not only did I worry about the police, but also the risk of some veggie junkie stabbing me with a carrot or hitting me on the head with a beet or turnip and taking my stash.
And the kids that want fresh produce, they start with a Homegrown Mater, whats next, Arugula, Turnip Greens, BE AWARE KIDS, its a slippery slope, next thing you know the kids will be strung out on Field Peas and Local Honey. After that who knows, They may even want a Skateboard Park. God forbid.
Due to the risk of selling produce in South Walton, I have decided to move EAT-Rite Produce company to a farm outside San Isidro, Costa Rica. I have found a beautiful 45 acre farm, This farm had supported a Costa Rican family for 50 years. It has beautiful orchards that produce avacados, papayas, star fruit, kiwis, red coconuts, citrus and more. It has many established organic, permaculture veggie gardens. It also has 5 acres of shade grown coffee.
My EAT-Rite for kids program will also be established on the farm. For the Angels that have contributed to this program, many thanks. The locals in this area are very poor and could use some help. Rain season will be in a few months. They need rain gear to be more comfortable, especially rubber boots. Maybe you have some gear the kids and adults have outgrown and you would like to send. If you PM me I will give you the address for the farm. I will be updating www.eatriteproduce (http://www.eatriteproduce) soon to reflect the relocation. My main concern is if my Unca Duke will ship his Geaux Juice that far. EAT-Rite Produce would not be the same without it. Paz,Amor,

Yes Seaside2, it's true. On April 15 The Mater Bandit will change his handle to El Bandito Mate, and EAT-Rite Produce will become Comer Bien Producir. Finca Tierra Rosa is a very productive farm that employees 8 locals, provides locals with fresh produce and takes the excess to market. The cash crop is shade coffee, that is sold to a broker for export. Finca Tierra Rosa also host students that are learning about permaculture and hydoponic farming. I'm sure there is some kind of "Good Ole Boy/girl" system in Costa Rican Politics, but I don't think they screw with the farmers. It worked out for the best because the "BIG BLUE" Dune Allen sign would have blocked my visability at the Stinky's location anyway.
I noticed Carl has reopened Cottons in Freeport on 331/20. Please support him. He is a real produce mans, produce man. Paz, Amor, Pura Vida, Mater Bandit

You can stay at the farm for $3.00 a day plus 3 hours farm chore. Meals are extra, $5.00 a week for 3 farm fresh cooked meals a day.

Stan, April comes too soon. One last Springfest? The price seems right for visiting Costa Rica.

We are looking forward to Springfest. You can come even if you don't have the $3 per day. See you soon.
