I don't think this thing should be built until Emerald Grand (or whatever that monster at the bridge is called) is actually being utilized.
Interesting comments at the bottom.

especially this comment regarding Emerald Grande:
"I little canary wispered to me the other day that PETER BOS' CONDOMINIUM HAS SUNK SIX INCHES!!!!!! Is there a better revenge? I hope it bankrupts him."
Anyone else heard this?

That thing is butt-ugly. Now I remember why I haven't set foot in Destin for so many years.
I wonder who is going to sell this project for him considering his very recent and massive layoffs involving Em Grande and even some of the marina operations?

That is probably the reason the opening to the harbor is closing at such a rapid pace. There are already reports of many boats running aground right there. Once it falls over in the pass they wont have to worry about "harbor front". The harbor will become a big lake.

It's really an easy fix. Just have a helicopter lift the building and fill in under it.

Maybe the new monster's architect took this into consideration when she included those flat panels on the roof...easy place for the whirleybird to set down at lunch time.

Just make sure all furniture is secured to the floor to avoid broken glass and flying debris.

Ya know, it doesn't even seem to matter what they do with Destin anymore; it is pretty much ruined--adding another big box strip mall, fast food joint or high-rise makes no difference. Although the Emerald Grande crumbling in a heap of dust into the Destin Harbor would be a definite improvement. :D Like one of the commenters, I too live for the day it is declared as uninhabitable and imploded.

Speaking of Bos, has anyone heard how Turnberry Harbor pre-sales were going?

There are still plenty of people that enjoy Destin. I for one, really love the harbor. I would rather have a condo overlooking the harbor than a gulf front unit....I just wanna stay on the western end of the harbor ;-)

It's funny, I was visiting a PC rotary club recently and the guest speaker told the story of working on a master plan for Destin and how they 'didn't want Destin to end up like Panama City', which of course was met with a roar of laughter.
