..........not starting wars and ending the ones we're involved in is an even better one!

Oh, good gravy!

Take another look at the list of invitees - you'll notice a glaring omission.

Obviously I'm not a diplomat, but if you are having representatives from 49 nations & international bodies come together to figure out peace in the middle east, wouldn't you at least invite all the MAJOR players in the Middle East?

Like maybe IRAN? :idontno:

Might be kind of hard to invite the playground bully who wants to wipe Israel off the face of the earth to the first meeting... maybe they are trying to get him to soften up a bit before including him in the mix... like you do with kids on a playground who aren't getting along. If you are the mom, you get with the other moms first and figure out what strategy to use to help the bully come around... then again, some dad tell their kids to lay one great punch square into the bully's face and hope that the buzzer in his head will go off and he will respect you. Both stratgies have been known to work. Don't know what will fix this multi-millenial war. Need to think peace and pray for it though... that may help bring light into the darkness.
Hope you are all having a super day!

I'm certainly not saying he's the voice of reason, just that any feasible solution will have to have Iran's input, concessions, and ultimate cooperation so not having them there makes it futile.

You want peace in the Middle East, you start by solving the biggest problem, which IMO would be the region's war monger w/ nuclear ambitions and domestic problems.

I feel confident that the good ole US of A spends this much daily helping people and in fact you will be hard pressed to find more geneous people than us, even if we have flawed foreign policy. Don't be such a naybob, Bob.

Waste of time.Don't bother talking, just get in on. Let's settle things the old fashioned way. Kill someone. How in the heck can talking be a waste next to killing?

Don't be such a naybob, Bob.Satchmo would not be happy about our foreign policy. We've got the greatest gig in the world right here. We should be more generous with our own citizens [see healthcare rants] than jerking around with folks who will forever be in turmoil because a religion born of a reaction to the Crusades has made them forever cranky. I say rebuild all the SEC stadiums with a couple months war funding. Next, everyone should have a care package of Zatarain's products, Tabasco, Cafe DuMonde coffee and beignet mix, Dixie beer[when they re-open], fresh mudbugs, shrimp, and Ruth's Chris steaks[now of O'town fame]. Then we will all need wellness screenings to make sure we are as happy and healthy as Halliburton executives. Now that's generous.

<sarcasm>I am confused, since when should the middle east players have a say in how to run their own countries</sarcasm>

Simple history folks:

2001 Bush wants nothing to do with peace talks ... states Clinton already caused more harm than good.

2002 Bush gets the war him and his cohorts have been planning since 1997.

2003-2007 Bush and cohorts divert multi - billions of taxpayers dollars into their pockets through proliferation of war and the extension of the industrial war compound. (please watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuPUFRusOBo)

2008 Time to take back everything we said before and start sweeping up this mess we have made for the American people. Hey why don't we start by having some middle east peace talks where we can all get together and make more plans on how to police the middle east.

Or better yet .... we are discussing peace while undermining and planning to wage war on Iran. Good setup, we tried the peace avenue, but they did not want to listen to our demands .... <background noise>bombs dropping</background noise>
