Seeing as how a storm was formed at the end of Dec '06, I don't put much faith in our official Hurricane Season.

I keep waiting for the "final" "revised" postcast from the hurricane gurus in Colorado. I never did understand that. Kinda like fishermen of the Gulf Coast setting cattle prices?

Top ten signs hurricane season is over:
10. Your neighbors pull down their shutters
9. The Weather Channel sends Cantore to Minneapolis to cover snow
8. Gulf water temps are now yellow on the wunderground map, not hot pink
7. Jeff Masters starts writing retrospectives
6. The leftover turkey is all eaten
5. You now WANT it to come a good thunderstorm
4. Seagrove is full of Buicks, not SUVs with bikes
3. There is no line at Angelina's on Friday night
2. No more compulsive starting of the generator to be sure it still runs
1. A cloudy sunset is a photo op, not a concern

Now this really sucks. Not only does it make homeowner's insurance rates go up it adds to global warming hysteria:bang:

The one thing that this article fails to mention is why NOAA went to the naming convention. It is much easier for the public to distinguish from one storm to the next with a name as opposed to Lat. and Long. I prefer giving any kind of tropical storm/depression a name, there are plenty of them, it is much easier to track for me. I'd rather hear that tropical depression Bob is 48 hours out than when they number them.

Haven't you heard that the "global warming" hysteria has been replaced with "global climate change" hysteria? Blame any and all changes to our "climate" on global warming.

So if we have frigid winters, droughts, floods, hurricanes, monsoons, typhoons and tornadoes, you can blame all of them on global warming. Sort of like hedging your bets in the stock market.

Rest assured however, we will get hit with another hurricane. There is no denying this. Its just a matter of when and how strong.
