Seacrestkristi, what's your point? These guys put themselves in harm's way every day in one form or another so you have the privilege of posting anything you want and saying anything you want. So just what is your point? I'd really like to know.

Maybe I should have directed my question to the initiators of the thread. 2bohemians, what's your point?

Uh, no point, really, just :google:in' , Andy A. I am very grateful for my freedom and our soldiers. Take it easy, dude. Mushroom bombs just make my emoticons go eek that's all. Come to think of it so does the thought of our soldiers being blown up. It is scary. It really isn't that funnE at all. I guess that's my point. Okay with you? :( Really what's your point, Andy A?

Blowing stuff up is fun - I'd love to blow stuff up too, but since I'm a civilian I must limit myself to creative use of model rocket engines and out-of-state fireworks purchases!

Simply sharing information -- nothing personal or any hidden messages going on from us ... just sharing an article we read this morning.

SK, if you had ever been there, you would know what my point is.

the entire quote... We're the military. We like to blow things up.
-- Why is one of the most fragile and endangered fish in North America living well at a Florida base known for testing bombs?
Maybe ya'll need to read the whole article:idontno:

I guess it was all suppose to be a joke, but if taken a certain way, to some of us it is not funny. Chalk it up to my PTSD syndrome and let it go at that. I'm sorry if I misunderstood but I have some situations in my backround that cause an unusual reaction sometimes.

I am very sorry I hurt your feelings, Andy A. :( Thank you for your service. Sorry I wasn't there. I bet it was and still is horrifying. I was invited by some vets to sit in on a Vietnam Support Group in my nurses training and it, the films, the stories, the stress, was very scary. :( I was very honored because my instructor told me none of her students had ever been invited to sit in. That was over 25 years ago and I'm still kinda proud. Again, I meant no disrespect.

Thank you, SK. The title of the thread just threw me, that's all. No disrespect taken.

the question should be whether SK read the article before posting the photo.

That is a really heart-warming article. Thanks for sharing it. After reading it, I don't even remember reading the "quote of the day" and title of this thread.

It is a really good story. I think the gist of it is here: "It's about two seemingly awkward companions that learned to share the same slice of real estate on Florida's Panhandle. "
Too bad this quote from the story doesn't attract as much attention:
"Improbably, the darter has been brought back from the edge of extinction."
Maybe when we figure out how to reconcile our own awkward companions, those conflicting urges to destroy and to create, then we will be able to live in peace, you think?
