My Dad.....I am so blessed to be the daughter of the most loving and gentle man. He is retired from the Army, injured jumping as a paratrooper and was a M. P. He was in Vietnam, that was a year in hell. I wish you could meet him. I will always be his army brat!! Do you know a hero?

My Grandfather. (Hey, he can have two posts!:D)

He is simply my role model for what a man should be. He is loving, kind, and always is ready to diffuse any situation with a joke.

The type of person that will run you to the grocery store the night before Thanksgiving if you find yourself without the makings for green bean casserole - without a single complaint. (That really happened:blink:.)

So many great memories - that it is hard to pick which to share.

Hope he has a great Veteran's day.

My uncle, Smitty, Helo pilot killed in the Tet offensive in Vietnam, and on the wall in D.C. They never found his body and was he declared MIA for 7 years. 58,000+ promising lives wasted following the orders of their government. Heroes all.

My Dad, Richard Radford. Served in WW2, Korean War and received a Purple Heart. Joined a Veterans group after he turned 80, and it helped him talk out thoughts and memories from those long-ago battles.

It has been just over a year since he passed away, but I know he's in a better place, smiling down and appreciating his fellow Veterans today...
