We love the smoked tuna dip at Red Bar, you can get it on a salad or ask for it as the appetizer. The Spicy Noodle has excellent smoked tuna dip too.

Not sure about the fried crab claws.....anyone? :idontno:

Nick's on Hwy 20, AKA Nick's in the Sticks has the best fat, sweet fried crab claws . YUM!

Yes, Nicks for crab claws! It isn't too far. Go north on 331 and take a left on HWY 20 (west). Nicks is about 5 miles on your left. Very scenic spot and family friendly, too.

If you can stomach the urinal cake smell. Seriously, the smell that hits you when you walk in the door is enough to make you sick. Service was always hit or miss, and the food wasn't all that grayt. Haven't been back in years.

montgomery30, I can't help with the fried crab claws, but I have done extensive smoked tuna dip research and have to agree with seaside2; the good stuff is found at Cocoons.

Man I think we will stop at Cocoon's and get a few tuna spreads to go and have it while watching the sun set from the condo. maybe get one for home too if it is as good as you say it is. We leave tomorrow for the beach. Monterey here we come. If you see numerous kites flying around the seacrest area it will be us. My dad has this new found passion. It was supose to be for the grandkids but he enjoys it just as much or more than the kids!

Tuna Spread - Just for the record... Goatfeather II had the better Tuna smoked spread. Cocoons although were ok, it had too much mayonaise and the tuna was not as fine as I usually like it. we of course ate on it all weekend but Goatfeather II has them beat. (in my opinion)

Crab Claws - Nicks were not as good. Small and just not too impressive. We had Goatfethers the first night and they were really good. D&K crab claws were really large and tasty as well. Both were worth the trip, but of course D&K had the better service and atmosphere. We got the crab claws at Goatfeathers to go...:D Thanks for all the suggestions!!!!

Glad you had funn.

BTW, I always suspected that the tuna spread and crab claws came from sysco (Or somebody like that).

I have a hard time visualizing them making all of the stuff they sell in their little kitchens.
