Wondering if anyone knows where there are any public tennis courts close to Inlet Beach. I know there are two at Frank Brown Park in PC Beach but my hubby and I are bringing our rackets and might try to play a little. Leaving in the a.m. early so I won't be back on here after tonight. Thanks.

No public ones in SoWal, and don't know of any in PCB, close to Inlet Beach. Did you read how hot it is here? Maybe a nice game of Pong inside with the a/c running would cause less brain damage.

I don't know of public courts, either, but I would recommend playing in Seaside's round-robins and clinics. They are at 8 AM every day through Labor Day, and the public is welcome. I think the fee is $20, but it is well worth it and lots of fun! You will also meet other tennis players that you can play with during your stay, and if courts are open, you can typically stay and play after the clinics/round-robins with folks you've just played with at no charge for the court time.

Thanks NoHall, we plan on it. Hey SJ, it couldn't be any hotter there than here. It was around 103 here today and is supposed to be that hot tomorrow. From what I saw of the temps down that way they were way cooler than here. And I checked the temps yesterday for that area. The key is to play early in the morning or late in the evening. This is just going to be hitting around, no serious play like we used to do. We'll bring them anyway, just in case we decide to.

You are right. Early morning is the only way to play right now. With the sun rising around 5:30am, there is plenty of time to get some in some volleys. This time of year, you need to be wrapping up any outdoor exercise by 9 or 10am at the latest. I see some fools out there in the heat, looking like they could use a stretcher and Ambulance.

LadyD, you can always go start knocking around some balls at the Rosemary Beach courts which are on 30A (right across from where you will be staying practically) until somebody asks you to leave.
