The Rep's dinner theatre under the stars on Saturday, September 1 will now be held on the Gulf Green in Alys Beach! Below are the details.

A unique and imaginative theatre piece which is comprised of a lifetime of letters exchanged between a man and a woman. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

LOVE AND DRAMA IN THE AIR LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Santa Rosa Beach, FL - Love will be in the air this Labor Day weekend. As this year’s “September Experiment,” the Rep will present A.R. Gurney’s touching and romantic play, Love Letters, in the theatre’s first outdoor dinner performance under the stars on the Beach Green in Alys Beach. This unique event will be held on Saturday, September 1 at 6pm, beginning with a seated dinner and followed by a one-night only performance of Love Letters.
Love Letters is a different kind of play that reconstructs the relationship of Andy and Melissa through a series of letters read as in real-time with the actors transforming themselves from children to grown adults over the course of fifty years. Their unusual and very private love story unfolds and develops from young sibling-like friendship to adult intimacy and, ultimately, into a relationship so complete that it is taken for granted until too late. This version will star Debra K. Anderson, last seen as Martha in the Rep’s production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf in 2005 and Don Goodrum, recently seen as Klinglehoff in The Underpants.
