American sale fares for VPS-Chicago non-stop flights

Looks like American is starting the non-stop flights on September 5th out of VPS/Ft. Walton Beach, and are currently showing a promotional fare of $193 round trip including taxes and fees.

Don't know if there's anyone planning on heading that way this fall, but it's a good price for that kind of thing.

Beachmouse, you made my day! Flying to the midwest for less than $400-$600 a ticket, it's like I found a lamp w/ a genie in it!

any idea how long these flights will run?

Don't know how long it will last - but for now they are listing only one direct flight - leaving VPS around 9:45 am and getting into ORD at 12 noon. The direct flight to VPs from ORD leave at 12:50 and arrives in VPs at 3:30. If you don't get these flights you get usually have to go through Dallas. I know they are good at least through November - because we booked a flight for a wedding in November.
