A large, adult male Golden Retriever is missing from an area North of Defuniak Springs. He is more of a blond dog; not dark golden brown. He was visiting a home there; but he lives in Destin. He broke his collar and ran away. Searching began immediately, but he was no where in site.
He is a very sweet, HOUSE DOG. He is not used to being outside and this area is heavily wooded. He may approach a house for food or to try to go in. He is scared of barking dogs and loud noises.
IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE IN THIS AREA PLEASE PASS THIS ONTO THEM.
THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL REWARD OUT FOR HIS SAFE RETURN.
He was lost from a small community called Darlington which is about 20 miles North of Defuniak Springs and 15 miles South of Alabama. Near the Walton County/ Holmes County line.
If you look at a map; it will be to the East of Hwy 83 North
THANKS FOR ANY HELP THAT ANYONE CAN GIVE US.

I am including a picture of the missing golden retriever.
If anyone has ANY contacts in North Walton, North Holmes, North Okaloosa or even South Alabama; please pass this info onto them. He has been gone since Sunday July 1st.
He likes people, but is skiddish. It might even be possible that he has just showed up at someone's door and they just don't know where he belongs. He is a well behaved dog and easy to fall in love with. We are desperately seeking tips, leads or suggestions. HE IS MISSED TREMENDOUSLY.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE US.

Good luck...may want to call Animal Control 892-8682 and alert them, in case someone calls to have him picked up. A beautiful, well-cared-for dog would be immediately recognizable. Maybe post some signs in and around Darlington?
Will be in that area this afternoon & will look. What is the dogs name so I can call him if I see him?

This dog is still missing, so if any one is near that area, please continue to be on the look out. Our other concern is that someone might pick him up and take him home because he is so sweet. If they take him out of the area, that will make it more difficult to locate. So if you see or hear of someone with a new dog like this, ask. Thanks so much. He is missed very much.

Bless his heart. So glad you got him back. I bet he just got scared or something. Pamper him a few days and let him know you missed him. :D

Thanks again for everyone's concern and tips.
Please consider checking your dog's collar. This one was wearing a collar with tags, but it broke. It was one of the plastic snap closures. He jerked away and it didn't come apart; it broke.:yikes:
Only heavy duty leather collars for us from now on. I had never thought of that possibility before.
I am just glad we were in an uncrowded area. Imagine if we were walking down a busy street.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
