Please see the attached photo of Tobie.

He is a 15 month old German Shepherd - Male.

His first owners had him for about a year, but the small yard in a large neighborhood didn't work out for them.

I helped place him with a new family about 2 months ago. His second owners love him, but his new "dad" just found out he has severe health problems (2 heart attacks, and heart surgery tomorrow) and will have to sell their 5 acres and home for a smaller, more manageable home.

Tobie needs and loves lots of exercise. He is a big boy with lots of energy AND lots of love to give.

He has been through our Advanced Obedience Training Program and a refresher program in between homes.

WE WILL PROVIDE TRAINING FOR TOBIE'S NEW FAMILY TO TEACH THEM HOW TO HANDLE TOBIE AND HELP THEM GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER.

Tobie is great around kids. He is fine with other dogs and animals, but needs to be supervised because he has never lived with other animals except when he was in training.

Tobie is a great dog, but he is not a lap dog nor a docile dog. We are completely full with dogs we are training and with our own rescues that we have welcomed into our family.

Please let me know if you know anyone that might be interested in Tobie.

I listed him on petfinder.com (http://petfinder.com/), but so far I have only gotten strange sounding emails. I don't want to send him to someone that will bring him harm or not love him.

Thanks for al your help,

Kelly Hooker

If you think Tobie'd be a good fit, you could call local law enforcement agencies and see if they would like to buy him for their K-9 programs.
It sounds like he's got the personality for it and they take good care of their doggies.

Thanks for the suggestion. My husband actually trains police dogs. We would love to train him and donate him to an agency, but he just doesn't have the qualities for that type of work.

Not that it matters, but Tobie is AKC registered.

He is a young boy about 15 months.

Although he may look a little chubby in the picture; it is really all fluff:D .

He is looking for someone to be his forever friend and will appreciate all the love and attention that he can get.

IF HE IS NOT THE DOG FOR YOU, PLEASE ASK YOUR FRIENDS ETC.

I am trying to help out his current owners. If we don't find someone soon, he will have to be placed in a foster home, and he will be listed with a rescue org. in Crestview. The fee will go up to $300 once he is listed with them.

Thanks for your help.
