Hi. Just moved here from New Orleans about 4 months ago. Want to try fishing in the coastal lakes. Any recommendations for spots to try? Also, what kind of bait to use?
Thanks!

For Reticulated Pythons, try tossing a baby tied to a rope, into Oyster Lake.

For Alligators, try tying a small dog onto a rope and keep tossing him into Western Lake.

:rolling:Good Luck!

Just a bit of humor for you. Somewhere on SoWal.com there is a page about fishing, including types of fish and bait, with specifics on the Coastal Lakes.
Trout, Mullet, and Redfish are a few species which you will find, if the PinFish don't steal your bait first. If they do, use a smaller hook and catch yourself some PinFish and use them for bait. The other PinFish won't eat that bait, but the RedFish might. Shrimp or Squid are commonly used bait. Use a "Pompano Rig," which you can buy if you don't know how to tie. You should be able to find them at YellowFin Sports in Seagrove or Grayton.
