Has anyone had a good experience with a restaurant that will serve you something gluten free in the sowal area? I know cross contamination is a huge issue.. I know Outback and Carrabba have gluten free menus, but was wondering if some of the chefs around here would have any suggestions or someone that has Celiac. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hibscus Cafein Grayton has a vegan waffle wonderful (gluten free). The WW is topped with chunky peanut butter, fresh fruit, coconut, pecans and honey.

Oatmeal is another option also topped with fruit, brown sugar and pecans.

Hours are 7:30 - 11:30 am

Heart & Soul Healthy Catering Co. is developing a gluten free lunch menu- which includes a variety of wraps using Organic local greens instead of tortillas. Special request can generally be accommodated.

For The Health Of It located in Blue Mountain Beach has a big variety of GF foods. I know you are looking to eat out, but if you need stuff for the house or condo to prepare we can accomodate.

Gravel Road in Grayton also has worked with several of our customers with dietary needs and restrictions, its worth contacting Jesse at Gravel Road

Thanks so much for your response to my message concerning gluten free places to eat. I shop often at “For the Health of It” which has been very helpful and saves me a trip to Panama City. I've even got a neighbor eating a few items that are gluten free and she doesn't have to! It's such a big social adjustment..always carrying a cooler with fruits/vegs, peanut butter and rice crispy bars and plenty of water or juice. When I have tried the gluten free menus at the chain restaurants I usually get sick because of the cross contamination problem. I’m going to try “Heart and Soul” soon which sounds like a great option. I believe more and more people will be diagnosed with this problem in the future. Maybe one day someone will start a gluten free chain restaurant which has good tasty food! :D Thanks again for your comments.

I adore Hibiscus Café!

OOPS! Oh, wait, I'm supposed to say that I hate it so it won't get crowded and force Smiley J to have to wait in line. :floor:
