Went there yesterday to give it a try and was delighted...

3 tacos for $5 - I had the seasoned pork, chicken and Mexican BBQ - all perfectly seasoned and served with fresh cilantro and hot sauce on hand made corn tortillas. They have about five other options.

My husband had the fajitas - also wonderful and good for leftovers today.

The best cheese dip I've had in a long time, fresh salsa and guacamole, good beer selection, great service.

The only downer is the building, which is clean but kind of dark - everything else was awesome!!!

This is the place just north of the 331 bridge where Brasa's used to be.

I've heard many great things about the tastiness of the food, but I find it hard to go into places without many windows. I may have to open my mind a little more and give it a whirl.

Is that where Reddick's used to be?

either Reddick's or Chapman's, I could never remember the difference.

It used to be Reddick's.

SJ - just ask to be seated next to a window.

Third trip in a week last night. Chicken flautas were so good.
And it's busier in there each time I go. That's a good sign that it may stay.

Ditto.

We've frequently discussed while driving down 331 how miserable your life would be as a kid if you had the name "Reddick."

BR. this is so funny. you'll never guess who has the middle name Reddick! and he is a distant relative of the local Reddicks - but didn't know it until recently.

oh, don't worry. no one will get undies in a wad. your statement is very true indeed!

I can so relate. I think I've posted this before, but my maiden name was "Aycock," pronounced "a cock." Can you imagine how much teasing I got about that as a kid? Other kids would say that my middle name was "likes" or whatever. What's sad is that I was so naïve that I didn't know until I was in college what they were laughing about. :bang:

Of course, my brother loves having that name.

This has nothing to do with the Taqueria on 331, but I have to point out that you went from being known as "Aycock," to marrying a guy named "Big D." :funn:

What can I say? It was Big-Destiny!

OOPS! Sorry for the tangent. We will definitely try the new taqueria. Like I've said before, if you are what you eat, we'd be Mexican food.

Actually, I'd be cheese dip. :floor:

I loved this place!!! Just enough different from Coco's and Vallarta des Noches to have a nice choice of Mex food depending on your mood. The 3 tacos for $5 deal was wonderful- I "mixed and matched" them and the seasoned pork was my favorite. There was plenty of fresh cilantro and onions too. Will LOVED his steak fajitas, and there was so much steak that he is eating the leftovers for dinner. Kate had the cheese quesadilla and ate most of it, which is unusual for her.

Steeling1 - thanks for the heads up- we will be back. The staff was so nice and friendly. This is the kind of place is looking forward to building a base of regulars, and if they keep up the good attitude and fresh food, they will.

I may go back tomorrow!

Alright, enough of all of this talk. I'm getting hungry. I need to get myself to the good side of town and give Taqueria a try.
