What is up at WaterColor crossing Publix? Anyone know what happened? The cops have it completely blocked off and the parking lot is empty.

I guess I will have to watch the news at 10pm. The news trucks were out there too.

I guess they got the address confused with the tax office, or either they were not a property owner.

My DH tried to go to Publix 3 times, finally went to Modica. He heard the same about someone threatening it with a bomb - I can understand the tax office but Publix?!?!?

PLEASE, PLEASE don't blow up our Publix!!!

Watercolor Publix rocks!!! They had the best french hamburger rolls and key lime pie! It was so nice to drive around the corner and not to PCB.

According to the 10:00pm news, there was a bomb scare. They sent in the robot to dismantle, but they found no actual explosives.

Live Looking Pipe Bomb Found To Be A Hoax

It now appears that a suspicious device found behind a south Walton supermarket was part of some kind of hoax.

Around Three PM Wednesday afternoon someone found a pipe bomb device in back of the Publix Supermarket on state road 395 near the Watercolors community.

It was strategically placed on the main water line next to the natural gas line.

Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies sealed off highway 395 in front of the store and then evacuated the building and surrounding businesses.

South Walton Firefighters, A-T-F- Agents, Homeland Security and the State Fiore Marshall’s office joined deputies at the scene.

They sent in a bomb disposal robot three times. During the last mission around 7:30 Wednesday evening they determined there were no explosives.

This kind of incident, in an exclusive resort area, shook some people and caused others to speculate..

The area was reopened to the public over five hours after it had been closed. Authorities are still trying to find out who planted the device and why.

I guess it is better to find it today rather then check in Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

You are right, I should not joke about bombs no matter where they are located.

Probably someone with a little too much time on his hands. With Publix always getting on the list of best companies for which to work, I would find it difficult to believe that it was a disgruntled Publix employee.
