We have been coming to sowal for about five years now, usually the last week of June. We were going to have some friends possibly come with this summer and wanted an honest opinion on conditions in mid May. June grass, temp etc...

Mid-May should be fantastic. Better availability of accommodations, the water is just getting warm enough to be comfortable instead of :eek: , but not so warm that the yukky stuff starts growing. I think you will have a grand time.

Was in Seagrove last week of June last year and the water and weather was outstanding!

We have been coming the same week in mid-May for the last 15 years or so. More times than not, there is very little June grass and the water temps are tolerable. However, last year the water was pretty chilly and the June grass was horrible - and I mean pea-soup horrible.

I'm sure it was just an anomaly from all the storms in 2005, but needless to say, we spent most of our time at the pool.
