Hi Guys,
I hope that you all can help me out! My fiance and I are planning a wedding for the Destin, Grayton beach area. Grant's family is from San Diego and I want to show them the beautiful beaches of Florida. They think they have the prettiest beaches. I am from Dothan, Al but now live in Port Saint Lucie, Fl so I am trying to plan this wedding afar. I am in search of a wedding site, reception, band and housing. The wedding party will probably be around 40 people and half will be staying in the Destin area. I am wanting the reception to have a great band and for Our families to meet (they haven't met yet). Please help me out all you can. I would greatly appreciate all of your suggestions. If you need any other contact info please let me know.
Thanks so much,
Jana

grantsgirl, I have a feeling this will be a heck of a wedding. We have many wedding planners/coordinators/crashers on this board. Hang on is right, BB!

Maybe we should just repost all that stuff that was on here a week or so ago, helping that other girl who's wedding turned out to be a few years ago and no one caught it- right away. THAT was funny. But lots of good advice in there.:floor: I'll see if I can't find the thread.

Jana - My daughter got married this past May in Watercolor. We had a FANTASTIC band called Nationwide Coverage - see link below.

You might want to check out the following website:
www.floridabeachretreats.com (http://www.floridabeachretreats.com)
One of the homes, "Little Sandy", is in Grayton Beach. It sleeps up to 26, is within walking distance of the Gulf, and comes highly recommended for wedding parties! Check it out. Other nearby homes and accomodations are also listed there. Beautiful, beautiful homes!!! Hope this helps, and best wishes for a lovely day!

We had to stop at 10:00 as per the Watercolor Inn rules. I think that we could have danced all night!!

I got married in Seagrove last summer and it really was a great weekend for everyone. We rented a house on the beach from Sunburst (www.sunburstco.com). We had the rehearsal dinner there, as well as the reception. We just walked onto the beach in front of the house for the wedding. I used a local wedding planning company (who I would not recommend) but there are plenty in the area... I have heard great things about Barefoot Beach Weddings. You can just search the internet and find a lot. We used Publix for the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding cake. The Publix right near Seaside/Seagrove is great - the deli manager was very nice and helpful. I planned the wedding from a distance. It takes a little work, and plenty of organization, but it definitely can be done.

I agree with renting a house or more, have the wedding on the beach and there you go, the perfect beach wedding. I used Townsend Catering for a wedding I helped plan and they were terriific. Call Donna or David 850-534-0662 or TNTINFLORIDA@AOL.COM. I also love the band Jones and Company, good music, funn music. Enjoy your wedding.
