Bobby, we were watching TV this morning and they showed people in a surfing practice pool (I don't know how else to describe it). It was this thing that made artificial surf and looked like a fun way to learn how to balance on a board. Do they have anything like that within driving distance?

Not that I know of. I have looked online for some frachise opps to do that here but quite expensive. Check this out www.wavehouse.com (http://www.wavehouse.com) My dream come true!!! I would bet you may see one of these big developers in Pc try to pull something like this or what Ron Jon surf in Orlando is doing.

That Bobby travel all over in search of "real waves." -- Costa Rica and the east coast of FL, I think.

Any chance that they may inexpensive enough to make one or two into a head and footboard for a bed? I have no idea on what a board costs these days. Do you have any peice of crap boards that are no longer surfable?

Bobby, you should tie Skunky onto a board and take him for a ride behind your boat. I think you still owe him a boat ride for identifying the location of the dog tied to the fire hydrant at Gulf Place in the photo. :funn::shark:

That is a good one. We could meet in Grayton say noon on the first and jump on in!!! I am in!I could join you in the Gulf, but those Coastal Lake temp are around 54F degrees and I am not going in there unless you bring me one of those heated inflatable bags that they wrap you in after surgery.

A dip in that frigid water would certainly take your mind off of the prior evening's indulgences, wouldn't it?!

Praying for surf this weekend!
There is something special about that cold water ---
It's rejuvenating --- and with a wet suit, booties and gloves --- you stay plenty warm !

For those of you who love the beach, we are extending an invitation to join our annual New Years Eve bonfire. Bring your own wood, food, drinks, entertainment --- we will supply the fire permit and good company!

Anybody who's interested, email us and we will tell you the location.

Ok. I have narrowed it down a bit. I will post photos soon. One board is a Stewart Hydo Glide with chimed rails. It is 7' and a great wave catching board. Very wide and fat and can be used for early level surfing or a smaller long board. I will sell it for $300.00
Next is a 9' Robert August longboard. I will sell it for $350.00.

These both are collectable boards and paid in the upper $700's each when new. Pm for more details or call me at 850-865-7798.

I would love to give you a few tips, no charge. The lessons will be getting out and doing it. You really have to just keep messing up until you are just sick of doing the same thing over and over again. Eventually you just get the hang of it. The most important part is paddling!!! Surfing is paddling, paddling, paddling! When I first went out the guys would tell me to shup up and paddle! When you finally have paddling down and sitting on the board you get to begin going over the "falls"! You have to do that a whole bunch. This is where I can help you. You have to learn to take off at an angle. The trick is understanding what angle because every wave is different. Most of the wave knowledge comes from getting wet and watching these various conditions come right at you. The gulf coast is weird. No wave is the same! Anyway, I will post next time it is up and you can call me and I will tell you where we will be heading. It maybe a good day to go. I will let you know. Just keep getting wet!!

Yes,
I have a vintage 9'6" longboard real thick. A real wave catcher! Great board to old school surf or hang on a wall $350.00 A brand new NSP short fish (beginner board for a kid) $200.00. One damaged long board takes on water $100.00. Let me know. These things move pretty quick. I also have a handmade wooden canoe 3 seater for $900.00. Just trying to clear out some toys to make room for some more!
