Alert! Missing Girl at Grayton Beach - updated: she's found)
Just got word that an 18 yr. old autistic girl is missing from Grayton Beach. She is staying in the Other Pink House in New Grayton. Please call 911 if you see her. Her name is Erin and she will be very shy and probably scared.

Re: Alert! Missing Girl at Grayton Beach
Ohhh this is terrible. Her poor parents must be crazy. And, the girl must be so scared. I heard from the cafe one was missing, but I didn't know the detail. Do you know where she was last seen....at the pink house???? Have they got her picture up yet???

She has been missing 4 hours from somewhere between the house and the beach. I saw helicopters and understand they are searching for her. Someone stopped by our house because it is also pink in case she is confused and comes here. Don't know about pictures yet.

Oh goodness...so scary. Surely there is a large search party assembled?

I'm wishing that they find her safe!
However, those two helicopters were Hueys with the navy and probably a MAST reserve unit. They weren't looking for her...

Re: Alert! Missing Girl at Grayton Beach
She's been found!!!!!! Apparently sitting alone at a park bench at topsail (?) Not sure what Topsail is, but my son asked a police officer and that's what they told him. We're staying a few houses down from the pink house, and my son and husband had been riding their bikes around helping to look. I'm so happy they found her.
NOw on to cocktail hour.

yeah it is, and she must be fast!
I remember this guy from my hometown (in GA), who went fishing one morning, and later that day, they found his boat floating in the water . In a week or so, he was found in TX. We never really heard what was up with that.
Glad the girl is alright.

I'm a little suspicious of the info that she was found at Tops'l. I guess it is possible, though. A normal walking speed is 2 mph, and she was gone about 5 hours. I hope she enjoyed the walk and didn't overheat. I hope she was smiling the whole walk. Thankfully, today seemed a little cooler than yesterday, though temps were still in the upper 90's.

Fuzz was told Tops'l by the investigating officer. Don't know if Topsail State Park, or Tops'l the resort. In either case, that's a hail of a long way from Grayton - and aren't there a couple of lake outflows along the way?
I'm just glad she is safe.
